Lunch Menu Prices Germany
Short answer first: lunch menu prices Germany currently run from €10.99 to €15.00 for a complete weekday lunch at the big chains. Nordsee sits at the bottom end, with fish menus from €10.99, Vapiano lands near €12.50, and Block House tops the list at €14.00–€15.00 with a fresh salad included.
A lunch menu isn’t just a normal dish served at noon. The chains bundle a daily special — often with a salad or a drink thrown in — at one fixed price, and they only serve it during weekday lunch hours. Wait until evening and the same food usually costs noticeably more.
One rule here: we only list deals checked on official menus, delivery menus or recent guest reports. No fixed price published? We say so instead of guessing.
Prices at a Glance
The table puts every checked lunch deal side by side. Don’t just compare numbers — look at what each price includes. Block House always adds a salad, Nordsee adds a drink, and Subway works through its app.
| Chain / Deal | What Is Included? | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Nordsee Backfisch-Baguette Menu | Baguette, fries and drink (Zwickau delivery menu) | €10.99 |
| Nordsee Classic Fish Burger Menu | Burger, side and drink (delivery menu) | €11.99 |
| Vapiano Lunch Menu (Hanover) | Lunch dish (guest report, March 2026) | €12.50 |
| Block House Lunch Time Daily Dish | Daily dish plus fresh salad, Mon–Fri 12–3 pm | €14.00 |
| Block House Lunch Time Rump Steak Day | Rump steak dish plus salad, Wednesdays | €15.00 |
| Block House Weekly Highlights | Block Burger, steaks or salad at lunch | €15.00 |

The gap looks almost comically small — just €4.01 between the cheapest and priciest checked deal. But what you get for it differs hugely: a steakhouse dish with salad at one end, a quick fish menu without table service at the other.
Block House Lunch Time: The Steakhouse Lunch Deal
Block House calls its offer “Lunch Time” and serves it Monday to Friday from 12 to 3 pm. A fresh salad lands on your table before every dish — it’s part of the deal, not an extra.
The regular daily dishes cost a flat €14.00. The official menu runs from chicken fricassee and Königsberger Klopse meatballs to salmon fillet — all at one price.
Wednesdays belong to rump steak, and the price rises to €15.00 that day. The weekly highlights also cost €15.00. They include the Block Burger, four small beef steaks, or the large salad with turkey medallions.
Now compare the evening menu: a rump steak dish starts at €19.00 there, and steak menus reach €25.00 and more. So lunch saves you €4 to €10 per dish — and the salad comes free on top.
Only While Stocks Last
The lunch menu says it plainly: dishes are only available while stocks last. Turn up at 2:30 pm and the daily special may already be gone. On popular days like steak Wednesday, arrive early — or book a table for the peak hour.
Café Extrablatt, Vapiano and the Italian Lunch Round
Café Extrablatt sells its lunch deal as the “Mittagsschnäppchen.” Monday to Friday, 11 am to 2:30 pm, you pick a dish from the lunch deal menu and get a 0.2 l soft drink with it.
The catch? The chain doesn’t print the deal price on its main menu. It stands on the separate lunch menu at your branch — so check it on site before you order.
Vapiano works much the same way, because its lunch price depends on the location. One guest in Hanover reported a lunch menu for €12.50 in March 2026 and praised the short wait.
L’Osteria, meanwhile, has no single lunch menu at all. Instead, its large pasta and pizza portions suit sharing — on the Essen menu, pasta starts at €10.95 for Spaghetti Aglio e Olio.
Fast and Cheap: Fish, Subs and App Deals
The lowest prices come from the fast concepts. On Nordsee’s Zwickau delivery menu, a Backfisch baguette with fries and a drink costs €10.99. The Classic Fish Burger with a side and a drink costs €11.99.
Subway skips the printed lunch menu entirely and pushes app deals instead. Its rewards section recently ran a Partner Deal for €13.99 with two 15 cm subs, two drinks and two cookies. A 2-for-1 offer on 15 cm subs ran alongside it, only at participating restaurants and once per account. Those rewards were listed until October 20, 2026.
- Fixed price with salad: Block House Lunch, €14.00–€15.00.
- Fixed price with drink: Nordsee menus from €10.99 and the Extrablatt lunch deal.
- App price: Subway Partner Deal, €13.99 for two people, plus a Family Deal at €19.99.
- Sharing principle: L’Osteria pasta from €10.95, with big portions made for two.
Skip the menu logic altogether and lunch gets pricey fast. One main dish plus a drink from the evening menu quickly reaches €16 to €20 at most chains. That’s more than every checked lunch deal on this page.
How to Get the Most From a Lunch Menu
Timing is your biggest lever. Almost every deal ends between 2:30 and 3 pm, and daily dishes often sell out before that. If you can, arrive before noon — or reserve a table.
Content is the second lever. A menu with a salad or a drink included almost always beats a bare dish, because a salad and a soft drink ordered separately can add €6 to €8 to your bill.
Apps are the third lever. Subway proves the point: its best lunch prices sit in the rewards section, not on the wall. So check the chain’s current offers before you visit.
Good to Know
Prices can vary by location. That matters most for the Nordsee figures, which come from a delivery menu, and for the Vapiano figure, which comes from one Hanover location. The Block House lunch prices follow the official menu for calendar weeks 38 to 40 in 2026, and the dishes change weekly. As of October 2026, check the current menu at your branch before you go.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does “Mittagsmenü” actually mean?
It simply means lunch menu. But in Germany it describes a fixed-price midday offer, not the full menu — restaurants print it on a separate small card or board. Can’t find it on your table? Ask for the Mittagskarte, the lunch card.
When do people in Germany usually eat lunch?
Lunch is traditionally the main meal of the day here, and most workers take their break around noon. Kitchens serve their lunch deals in exactly that window, then switch back to the full menu in the afternoon. Arrive late in the deal window and you risk sold-out specials.
Do lunch menus run on weekends too?
Almost never. Nearly all classic lunch deals run Monday to Friday only, and Block House Lunch Time follows that pattern. Weekends bring brunch or the regular menu instead. One exception sits on the Block House lunch card itself: its weekly highlights stay listed as fixed dishes beyond the daily rotation.
Should you tip on a lunch menu in Germany?
Yes — a small tip is still normal, even on a discounted lunch. Service is already included in German menu prices, so tipping is a thank-you, not a duty. Most guests round the bill up, or leave a little extra in cash even when they pay by card.
Can you take a lunch menu to go?
Usually, yes — and it suits a short lunch break well. Block House offers its lunch dishes for pickup through Click & Collect, and the fast-food menus are built for speed anyway. Just note that some deals, like the Subway app rewards, only work at participating restaurants.
